The rattan and bamboo weaving village of Chuong My has existed since the 18th century and was introduced by Hanoi merchants to the northern mountainous regions for trade. However, the village's official rattan and bamboo weaving industry began to develop in the early 20th century.

Throughout its development, the villagers have continuously explored, innovated, and improved production techniques to create beautiful and unique woven products.
